Can I put a foyer pendant light over my dining table?

I like the look of hanging pendant lights lobby and I would hang one above my dining table instead of a traditional lamp. I wonder, from a design standpoint, and will be completely out of place and pair or set a tone for the style I like?

Hey, if you can build the room you hanging, there is nothing wrong with it-is your home. It is as if the design of the police will break into your house and scream, "I cast you out!" I have one of those wrought iron entrance mats on the door that leads sunk into the kitchen. Ie for a door, but it works perfectly where I put it.
