Old House, wiring problems in the kitchen ... HELP!?

Today we decided to remove the old ceiling fan was in the kitchen (installed by the owners above) and replace it with a flush mount lamp. When we take the fan down 6 cables are going in the light box, three white and three black. We think 2 of the 3 white wires and 2 of the 3 black wires of the switch and the switch box (power through the light, not the button). So now we are left with one black and one white white appear to have no place there. When we together 3 of 3 black and whites together all the blows switch. Does anyone have any idea what this is? I've never wiring as seen this before, and now I do not know how to fix it.

That's a tough question ... Here is my best guess: The device was installed originally a light / fan with a pull switch does not - a wall switch. So you have a game goes from the switch. Not being the receptacle Finally, There is another line that goes to the next shot. Now the easy way to put a wall switch is to run a cable to the wall switch, ie, the black bears the burden to the switch and bring back white. Design Help: Oil rubbed bronze hardware with satin nickel fixtures?

Currently I have six panel white internal doors and I am looking to replace all the knobs and hinges to update the look. I like the look of oil rubbed bronze knobs and hinges white but light and bathroom fixtures are brushed nickel in most rooms and oil rubbed bronze in others. Would it look odd with a different ending in the hardware of the door of the lights in some rooms? Suggestions?

It will not work. I suggest you consider changing the faucet in the bathroom oil rubbed bronze, because people look, and played just after the door handle, so it will be noticed. How do I install a 2-flush mount light fixture?

Libra Desk Light

The Libra table lamp from Alliance Optotek offers multiple timed lighting modes.  Using the touch sensitive base, light values can be adjusted from 100% to 10% brightness.  The base also sets the modes in which the light can automatically turn off after 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 2 hours of operation.  The touchpad on the base of the lamp indicates the mode of the lamp using colored lights.  Available from The LED Light

El E. Dee table lamp by Ingo Maurer

The El E. Dee table lamp is by far the most expensive in this list at $4680.00.  You'll be purchasing a museum worthy lamp as it's designer, Ingo Maurer, has been on display at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design museum.  A Touch-Tronic sensor electronically dims the light, and the ball-and-socket joint allows the lamp to be twisted and swiveled in any position.  The LED circuit board is held in place by locking pliers.  The lamp is available from Amazon.com
